Ngamba Island Camp
| *Lake-side Living - located on a tranquil island on vast Lake Victoria. *Chimpanzee Encounters - get invovled with chimp rehabiliiation and take a walk with them. *Make a Difference - all proceeds go towards maintaining this haven for chimps. Ngamba Island Camp is located on Ngamba Island on Lake Victoria, where a sanctuary has been created for orphaned chimpanzees. The camp consists of 4 en suite tents overlooking the lake. The camp is solar powered which minimizes the impact on the environment. When you aren't taking part in the exciting activities on offer, simply relax on the wooden deck in front of your tent and enjoy the view. Enjoy watching the chimps at feeding time which occurs twice a day, or set out on a 1hr forest walk which allows you to join a group of young chimpanzees and observe them in their natural habitat. Other optional activities include trips to a local fishing village and opportunities to see the 154 bird species that are found in the area. Also on offer is the chance to experience a day in the life of a chimp caregiver. This means that you'll help out at feeding time, take part in the daily research and monitoring of these primates, and also assist with medical check-ups. Inquire Now |
