Ndutu Safari Lodge is situated in the Ngorongoro Crater Conservancyin the southern Serengeti eco-system of Tanzania. The lodge is set under a canopy of giant acacias overlooking a soda lake, Lake Ndutu. The lodge is a superb base from which to explore the surrounding Crater and Serengeti plains. Ndutu has also been a favourite with professional wildlife photographers and film-makers for the past 4 decades, due to the abundance of wildlife in the immediate area. The lodge has an informal, intimate feeling, and as there are no fences around the lodge, wild animals wander past throughout the day and night. During the day you can hire one of Ndutu's 2 safari vehicles or use your own vehicle to go game viewing, embark on a walking safari accompanied by a park ranger, observe wildlife up close around the lodge, or marvel at the diverse birdlife. Evenings can be spent around a roaring campfire or in the cosy bar, where nocturnal genets (small spotted cat-like animals) usually make an appearance, as they gaze down from the rafters.
