Situated on the periphery of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is Mantana Bwindi Camp, a comfortable and secluded tented camp with spectacular views of the surrounding forest. The camp provides a peaceful base from which to search for the mountain gorillas and explore the forest, where you may also have the opportunity to spot some of the 6 other primate species, 350 species of birds and 202 species of butterflies which inhabit the dense vegetation of the park. Other activities that can be arranged from the camp include trips to see the Batwa Pygmies and a number of forest hikes. However, you might be tempted just to relax in the tranquil atmosphere of this forest retreat and absorb the exotic sights and sounds.
