Bird Island Lodge – Private Islands

Situated 30 minutes’ flight from Mahé, Bird Island is Seychelles most northerly island, surrounded by sparkling white beaches and crystal blue waters.

24 individual beachfront bungalows lie amid the gardens of an old coconut plantation, offering comfortable and spacious accommodation, whilst preserving the informal atmosphere of island life.

From May to October, part of the island is home to millions of nesting sooty terns and with a year-round population of at least 20 other bird species it is an ornithologist’s heaven.Bird Island is also an important nesting site for turtles and boasts the world’s largest land tortoise, Esmeralda.

Located on the edge of the Seychelles Bank, Bird Island offers excellent big-game fishing and bottom-fishing excursions.
